What are headline earnings? How are headline earnings calculated?
Headline earnings allow investors to more easily compare the true performance of companies by excluding profits or losses from the sale of operations, discontinuation of operations, sale of fixed assets, or write-offs.
The concept of headline earnings was developed by the Institute of Investment Management and Research.
